Georgina Brandon
After a childhood of playing in the sandbox in New Brunswick, the forest in the Yukon, and the coastline in Nova Scotia, I then pursued an art degree at Mount Allison University and Emily Carr College of Art and Design and have been working in clay, illustration, and painting since.
I work in illustration because I enjoy the challenge of creating a succinct and visually impactful vignette . I also appreciate the medium because it is portable, accessible, and has a smallish footprint.
Past commissions have included work for the Fairmont Four Seasons Boston, Vancouver, and San Fransisco, institutions including the UBC Museum of Anthropology, and many galleries, shops, and private collections across Canada.
Aside from producing work, I have worked at developing community art events including starting a local non profit Arts Society and have taught workshops and art classes to children and adults.
My family tells me that if was an animal I would be a ground squirrel.
